The WordPress theme we’ve built on your new site makes fairly extensive use of page Excerpts. Note that the excerpts dialog is near the top of the right-hand column in the editor.
You won’t see the excerpt as part of the page content in the back end, except for the dialog box.
Here’s what the excerpt looks like on the front end.
The excerpt also shows up in our grid lists of pages, as you can see here on the “Our Center” page.
